A viral video on Reddit shows a single security guard stopping two masked ICE agents from entering the staff area of a McDonald’s in Minneapolis.
The video is released after ICE Agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good on Wednesday in a residential area in South Minneapolis. Renee was shot in the head and died in a local hospital, the US Mirror previously reported.
Roughly 2,000 ICE agents were released into the Minnesota city to crackdown on fraud involving the Somali diaspora. The video shared on Reddit shows two masked ICE agents getting into a heated argument with the security guard. “This is private property,” the guard is heard saying. It comes after an ICE agent’s cam footage exposed ‘the truth’ and revealed Good’s final 8 words before she was shot in the face.
“You ain’t gonna stop me,” the ICE agent says and walks past the security guard.
“I’m talking to the manager,” the agent said.
“Well you’re talking to security, I’m in charge.” The guard said. “I’m the owner,” the guard says at one point as the argument escalates.
The guard blocks the agents from entering, standing right at the doorway to the employee’s section of the McDonald’s – to cashier and kitchen area of the McDonald’s.
Based on the video, the guard is holding his phone and talking to someone while blocking the agents from entering. There is no physical escalation, according to the video.
Good’s death brought hundreds of protestors into the neighborhood where she was shot. Good was a mother to a 6-year-old boy and according to Good’s mom, Donna Ganger, was not part of the ICE protests.
“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” Ganger told the Minnesota Star Tribune. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
The Trump administration has shown support for the ICE agents. The Department of Homeland Security identified Good as a “rioter” who was participating in an “act of domestic violence.”
Minnesota officials, like Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey, attacked the administration for sending ICE agents into the city. Frey said the fatal incident was “an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed,” the US Mirror previously reported.
